Volunteer and Internship Opportunities
Much of the work done for the SHIPS Project is undertaken by our team of enthusiastic volunteers and interns working alongside the ProMare team.
Volunteers
We already have many people working for the SHIPS Project as volunteers but we could always do with more help as there is so much to do. We have volunteers helping the project in all sorts of different ways, some jobs can only be done by divers but most are based on shore:
- Researching Plymouth's history
- Researching shipwrecks
- Reporting things seen on the seabed or shoreline
- Investigating underwater targets
- Searching for and mapping shipwrecks
- Recording hulks on the shore
- Recording interviews for oral history projects
- Organising their own small recording or research projects
- Doing presentations to clubs and societies
- Finds photography and drawing
Please check the Diary for a list of forthcoming volunteer fieldwork opportunities.
